A favorite tradition here in Atlanta is the annual Alliance Children’s Theatre Christmas House, where the top designers come together to create a decorating masterpiece in a masterfully-built home.
Brent Beecham shared some photos of “Villa Sienna,” the 2005 Christmas House constructed by Beecham Builders, LLC in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. The 14,000 square foot home has four bedrooms upstairs and the master on the main floor. Taking advantage of Atlanta’s (almost) year-round outdoor entertaining opportunities, the home was designed by Harrison Design Associates to maximize outdoor recreational options. Central to the outdoor living concept is the loggia, equipped with outdoor kitchen and fireplace, which surrounds the pool. The architecture of the house was inspired by the old world villas in the Tuscany region of Italy.
Incorporating every conceivable convenience made possible by today’s technology, the home exudes the feel of an 18th century Italian estate: from the 8-inch-thick masonry stucco walls that are authentic to the period; to the doors and windows custom built in Belgium of solid mahogany; and all the way up to the antiqued clay barrel tile roof by Ludowici Roof Tile.
A modern, professional-grade kitchen, a library aglow with gleaming, polished wood, an inviting wine cellar, extended overhangs with carved stained brackets, vaulted ceilings, stone columns and floors, and the 30 ft. domed rotunda combine to create an atmosphere of authentic, old world style with a modern flair.
