About Gatsby’s List

Gatsbys at easeGatsby’s List is dedicated to showcasing the finest of luxury homes – with a slightly different approach than what you’ll find on other sites. And much like a pearl which starts out as a single grain of sand – we are a gem in the making. To explain what we are, it’s easiest to start by telling you what we’re not.

Gatsby’s List has no hidden agenda. I am not a Realtor, a builder, an architect, a designer or real estate professional trying to promote my “real” business.  This is it. Gatsby’s List is my on-line blending of real estate magazine, coffee table picture book, and reference guide for designers, buyers and dreamers.

I plan to focus upon awesome homes – those with incredible architecture, innovative style, to-die-for views, just-right décor, perfect location, immense scale, or that certain edginess which makes them stand out from the rest. The site will present a dazzling and ever-growing array of oceanfront homes, country estates, lakefront villas, ski lodges, urban penthouses, hotel suites, midtown lofts, and even yacht interiors – anyplace people call home.

Unlike some real estate sites which are thinly-veiled advertisements for real estate sales agents or other real estate professionals – often peppered with snarky comments about the industry in general, specific properties, or other issues, or limited to properties currently for sale, Gatsby’s List is planned as a photo-rich site which celebrates high-end homes as an art form and the people who create them as artists.

Gatsby’s List is not a multiple listing service which limits itself to properties currently for sale – and which loses those photos once the properties sell. Instead, we plan to develop into a gallery (and searchable reference archive) for the best of the best. Of course, properties for sale will be an important element, but at the same time we intend to offer architects, designers, builders and proud homeowners an opportunity to showcase their masterpieces.

If one word summarizes our plans for this site, that word would have to be “Pictures”!  Lots of professional-quality, fast-loading, searchable photos for every property profiled.

Gatsby’s List is now on-line in its “soft opening” phase. We are compiling content, testing the functionality of our various technical components, and trying out new ideas for a very select audience.
